Merritt Island Christian School is a co-educational day school, situated in Merritt Island on a 14 acre campus centrally located in Brevard County’s “Space Coast.” With the Indian River on our west, the Banana River on our east, and the Atlantic Ocean just three miles away, our location offers easy access to Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Rockledge, Titusville and Viera areas. We are also within commuting distance of Orlando.

Merritt Island Christian School is a ministry of First Baptist Church Merritt Island.

Merritt Island Christian School’s vision is to expand our curriculum, offering courses that will place our students at a level above others, ready to confidently compete in our global economy, spiritually and vocationally.
The mission of Merritt Island Christian School is to lead students to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, inspire them to academic excellence, and to equip them to impact their community through the biblical principles of character, leadership, and service.
  • To foster respect for the Lord Jesus Christ and authority
  • To display a Christ-like character in all endeavors
  • To teach a biblically-based curriculum at all levels of the school
  • To create leaders who are godly role models
  • To create a servant-minded attitude at school and in the community
The Strategic Plan is an example of a cumulative effort of Merritt Island Christian School. Our overall goal is to continually modify, improve and enhance both spiritual relevance and academic rigor at MICS, and Christian relationships.
