Superintendent Welcome

I would like to welcome you to the 2009-2010 school year at MICS. As I begin my third year as superintendent I can only reflect back on the past two years and the many ways God has blessed this school. We have a group of the most committed and dedicated faculty and staff that I have been around in my 30 years of educational experience. As a school we exemplify God’s family by opening our ministry to all students and families that desire to be a part of Merritt Island Christian School.

            This past summer our Leadership team met for three days of planning and prayer to solidify some new goals and strategies and forge the way for the future. We believe that God has stated clearly to move on with sound vision always keeping His way on our hearts and minds. Some of the new plans for the 2009-2010 school year are:

• Completion of Phase I of the Athletic Complex
• Implementation of an Elementary Swimming Program
• Planning year for the MICS Business Academy (2010-2011) school year
• Implementation of Dual Enrollment from Belhaven College
• September 11 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Athletic Complex
• Developing Christian Leaders Program sponsored by Superintendent, Dr. David Piccolo

                        These are the goals and a few of the many strategies God has directed us to plan and evaluate as integral parts of (MICS) future. We urge you as parents to get involved and see where God’s direction may bring you in assisting our family at Merritt Island Christian School.
