Nat Aydlett

Athletic Director

I graduated from Faith Christian School in  Virginia in 1978.  I received a Bachelor of Science in Humanities from Baptist University of America in Georgia in 1982 with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Bible.  I currently have an ACSI Standard Certification for all levels of physical education and a State of Florida Educator’s Certificate for Athletic Coaching.  Several of my students and players have also honored me with nominations to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

I am very blessed and thankful to have been raised in a Christian family.  My athletic career started at the age of eight.  During my last three years of high school I was able to attend a Christian school, where I was privileged to be on Virginia’s first tackle football team at a Christian school, along with playing basketball and baseball.  I continued to play both football and baseball in college.  After college, I played semi-pro baseball for several years including 1986 when I had the opportunity to play professionally for the Indianapolis Clowns.

My coaching experience spans over 26 years at the high school level.  Highlights during this time include two State Championships in football as a head coach and three State Championships in baseball as an assistant coach.  I have had the honor of being selected as “Coach-of-the-Year” three times.  Throughout my coaching career, I’ve been privileged to see fifteen of my former players advance to play ball at the college level, with seven receiving scholarships.

In addition to my coaching responsibilities, I was a PE/Weight Training Instructor seventeen years, Dean of Students two years and an Athletic Director four years.

I am currently the Athletic Director here at MICS and have coached baseball three years and golf two.

I enjoy surfing, golfing, biking and softball.  One of my favorite surfing spots is at the Hatteras Lighthouse on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  I now enjoy getting in an occasional session at Coach Beach or playing a round of golf with the guys on our team.  I really like to relax and spend time at the beach with my wife, Kelly, and our three “AA’s” – Amanda (12), Angel (11) and Austin “TD” (8).

I asked Jesus into my heart on March 3, 1969 at the age of eight.  In January 1977 during my junior year at a youth conference, I surrendered my life to full-time Christian service.  I use Matthew 5:16 as my life’s verse in trying to be a Christian example to my family, my players and others.  I like to use 1 Peter 5:1-11 as the basis for my coaching philosophy and as a challenge for me to remain faithful to the ministry in which God has led me to serve.
