My Education: BA Fine Art from Texas A&M
I am Florida State certified to teach K-12th grade art and have my Association of Christian Schools International teaching certification. I am a member of Florida Art Educators Association and the National Art Educator Association.
My Background: I was born and raised a Texan, but now I consider myself a Floridian. I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and attended college at Stephen F. Austin State University for 2 years before coming home to graduate from Texas A&M. I married my college sweetheart, and we just celebrated our 20 year anniversary. We have 3 beautiful girls and beast of a dog named Oakley.
My position at MICS: I’m in my 16th year of teaching at MICS. This year I am teaching Draw/Paint 1, ceramics, photography, 2D/3D art, and yearbook. I am the National Art Honor Society Sponsor, and I am class sponsor of the 10th grade this year with Mrs.Verano and Mr.Rockwell.
My interest: I love going to the movies, reading a good book, collecting shells on the beach, and spending time with my family. Besides teaching, I have my own photography business, Fish Studio Photography. You can view my web site at www.wfishstudio.com.
My Faith and Learning Statement: I love introducing people to my passions- art, photography, and Jesus! Creativity is a wonderful gift from God, and my goal is to help students tap into that creativity and achieve their full artistic and personal potential.
