My Education:  I grew up in the Brevard County School system. I earned an AA from Brevard Community College.  At Florida Technological University, now the University of Central Florida, I earned my BA .  I have continued to take courses and have kept my Florida teaching certificate current.  I am certified by ACSI as well.

My Background:  I was born and raised in Brevard County.  I have a large extended family.   Most of my maternal side reside here in Brevard County.  After a career in the Air Force, my Dad and family settled in Arkansas.  I have siblings living there, as well as Missouri and Indiana.  We have gathered often in the Florida Panhandle. 

My Position at MIC:  This year is my thirty-seventh  year in education.  God blessed me by bringing me to MIC thirty-three years ago. I have taught just about everything from kindergarteners to seniors.  I am now teaching students whose parents I taught and quiet a few of  former students are now my peers here at MIC. 

My Interests:  My interest in history comes from my parents.  I grew up hearing stories of my mother’s parents and grandparents.  Dad’s stories of his service in WWII, in the early Fifties with Eisenhower, and then Vietnam are facinating.  My favorite vacation was a wagon train trip out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and a vist to Yellowstone.  I love most animals and visit the Brevard Zoo often.  I have had many kinds of pets.  My favorite are cats and I have three at home now.  They keep the house lively.  I enjoy reading and usually have a book or two started.

My Faith and Learning Statement:  I was raised in a Christian home and asked Jesus to be my Savior as a child.  As I grew, my relationship with Jesus grew closer.  He has shown me His sustaining grace and  love in so many ways, large and small ways.  He is truly is an amazing love and mercy.  He lead me from a career choice to a teaching ministry.  My main goal is for my students to see how God has worked throughout history and find Him in their lives.  Another goal is for my students to understand their responsibilities as Christian citizens and to seek God’s direction for their lives.
