Director of Admissions

I received an AA degree from Brevard Community College and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida with a BA in Music Education with an emphasis in choral music.  I hold teaching certifications from both the State of Florida and American Christian Schools International (ACSI). I have taught music at both elementary and secondary levels in the Brevard County school system. I also taught as an adjunct teacher at Brevard Community College.

I came to MICS in 1998 and began the secondary choral program.  After five years of building a successful choral program, I felt God calling me to leave my position as Choral Director and serve in a new capacity at MICS as the Director of Admissions.

I was born in Panama City, Florida and, with the exception of one of my college years, have lived in Florida all of my life.   My family moved to Brevard County when I was two years old.  I met my husband, Mark, in my high school band class and we’ve been together ever since.  We have been married 27 years and have two children, Joanna and Luke.  My husband and I are big “do-it- yourselfers.”  We built our current home from the ground up.  We love projects and seeing them through to completion.  I also enjoy reading, decorating, and spending time with family and friends.

I was blessed to be raised in a very loving Christian home.  I never remember life without a strong belief in God, but it was not until October of 1988 that I truly knew what it meant to ask Jesus to be the Lord of my life.  Since that time, I have grown so much in my walk with the Lord.  We are all born as unique individuals and I feel it is our calling as Christian educators to find that uniqueness in each of our students.
