Debbie Joca
Director of Guidance

I was born in Hackensack, New Jersey and grew up in northern New Jersey.
I had a third grade teacher named Mrs. Hayes who strongly influenced my
life towards teaching and education.
I attended Mansfield State College in Mansfield, Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Education and a Master of Science Degree in Special
Education-Exceptional Persons. I also
attended Webster University for my Guidance and Counseling
Degree. I am Florida State Certified in
Learning Disabilities (K-12), Varying Exceptionalities (K-12), and Guidance and
Counseling (PreK-12), as well as ACSI certification as Guidance Counselor
Specialist and Special Education Specialist.
Before coming to MICS I worked for Brevard County Public Schools for 22
years (13 years in the classroom). Prior
to that, I was a Resident Manager for a group home for disabled adults.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time
with my two children, Jessica and Jason.
I also love to travel, read, watch movies and play Scrabble.
As a Christian, I feel it is my duty to
spread the word of God to our young people.
I am blessed to work at MICS where I can do that on a daily basis. My favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can
do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
