Middle School: Grades 7-8

Program Profile and Overview

Middle school is a very important time for students as they make the transition through adolescence, towards adulthood. MICS teachers help students to be ready for high school. We are concerned about their daily walk with Jesus Christ, developing organizational and study skills, as well as proficiency in the academic areas they will need for high school.

The social and physical changes taking place in middle school students provide a unique opportunity to engage the student, directing their emerging energies and abilities toward spiritual and social development that will last a lifetime.

Success begins in focusing on study skills, personal organization, critical thinking and decision making.  Academic studies in the middle school program at MICS allow students to begin to apply their general knowledge toward more focused areas of study.

Enrichment programs compliment the challenging course structure providing students with computer and science lab experiences and opportunities in the fine arts including choral music, art and piano.
