MICS Robotics Team Earns Grand Champion Honor

 

Congratulations to the MICS “Conquistadors” Robotics Team for being awarded the honor of GRAND CHAMPION at the “Panther Rumble” held at Kennedy Middle School!  MICS competed with 16 other First Lego League (FLL) teams from Central Florida.  Judges evaluate the teams on a variety of categories and the MICS team received extremely high ratings in Core Values, while also rating in the top tier in Robot Performance and Robot Design.  At the conclusion of the competition the team received the Grand Champion honor which is the team that best embodied the FLL experience by fully embracing Core values while achieving excellence and innovation in both the Robot game and project.  Mr. Micah Rockwell is the Robotics sponsor, and is assisted by Mrs. Rita Chase and Mrs. Connie Hagglund.  Team members are: Barrett Bascue, Emily Hagglund, Joshua Mahnke, Eduard Meighan, and Rebecca Tucker.

MICS Yearbook Earns First Place

Congratulations to MICS Yearbook sponsor Mrs. Wendy Fisher, and her 2011 staff for receiving a FIRST PLACE award from the American Scholastic Press Association!  The association said, "Your yearbook shows excellence in the fields of writing, photography, and page design."
